Lenovo may be ditching the ZUK brand altogether

0

We’ve known for some time now that Lenovo would be going all in on Moto for their global efforts, but we never thought they’d completely ditch the strides they made in furthering the ZUK brand.

Rumor has it that Lenovo is going to dissolve all things ZUK at some point in order to let the Moto brand take hold as their full focus going forward. This would explain previous reports that Lenovo is looking to bring ZUK’s ZUI to Moto phones after years of the phones having near-stock Android.

If all of this turns out to be true, it would appear Lenovo is going back on their original intention to let Moto live on with the values the company adopted back when they were first purchased by Google. That’s their right, of course, and to be fair to them, the old way hasn’t quite been working out in terms of sales.

That said, Moto must still have something of value if Lenovo’s willing to sacrifice their pet company for it, so we’re hopeful it’ll all turn out for the better. We’ll likely learn more once the Moto Z2 lineup goes official later this year.
