Meizu plans to introduce a new device with an 18:9 display on January 4th

0

Meizu has been trying to make headlines over the last few months of 2017 as the company plans to take the market by storm in the first half of 2018. At least one of these upcoming devices is expected to feature a display with an aspect ratio of 18:9 and the company has confirmed an announcement for January 4th.

We first saw rumors of a new 18:9 device back in November, when some random images leakes showing off the front and rear-panel of the unnamed Meizu device. The rear panels confirmed that Meizu will be implementing a dual-camera setup with the fingerprint scanner mounted just below.

According to MyFixGuide, the device will be called the “Meizu Meilan S” and will also be powered by the Samsung Exynos 7873 chipset. We are also expecting to see the device launch with either 3GB or 4GB of RAM and either 32GB or 64GB of onboard storage. Finally, the Meilan S will pack a respectable 2,930mAh battery, but there’s no mention of fast-charging capabilties.

Let us know what you think about this possible device, and if you would like to see Meizu make more of an impact on the unlocked market here in the US.
