LG G6 owners might be feeling shunned after LG officially began rolling out Android 8.0 Oreo to the LG V30 a few short days ago. This was after they had been testing the beta version of the update since back in November and seemingly wasted no time in getting the final version out to the V30. So what about the G6 — LG’s true flagship? Well, it seems that an update could soon be underway.
A beta version of Android 8.0 Oreo (build number V19A) was spotted running on the LG G6 in China. The UI hasn’t changed much, but the screenshots do show core Oreo features like app shortcuts, adaptive icons, and other new features. The user also notes that speed and battery life have been improved, which is sure to be good news for anyone still using the device. You’ll have to check out the forum post for yourself to see the full set of screenshots.
There’s still no official word on when we can expect it to arrive stateside. Typically, updates hit China/South Korea first and since we haven’t even heard word of a beta version of the software hitting those areas, the final update could still be a ways off. Sit tight.
