Huawei could announce partnerships with AT&T and Verizon next month

0

Early last month, we began seeing rumors surrounding Huawei’s plans to infiltrate the US market through the likes of AT&T. These rumors suggested that the Huawei Mate 10 lineup would be made available through AT&T, and it seems these rumors have been confirmed.

A new report out of Korea claims that Huawei will officially announce its partnerships with both AT&T and Verizon sometime in January. While the deal is “already done” with AT&T, Huawei is still in talks with Verizon to get some type of agreement signed ahead of next month.

It’s likely that we’ll see an announcement at CES 2018, which is scheduled to begin on January 9th. The reason for this train of thought is due to Huawei’s presence at CES 2017, including the announcement of the company bringing the Huawei Mate 9 to the US.

Although Huawei may be a trusted name for many of us, the fact remains that you can not easily purchase a Huawei device from carriers like you can others. A partnership with any major carrier would prove to be huge for the company, especially considering the fact that Huawei is the third-largest OEM in the world.

Nonetheless, we’ll be crossing our fingers and waiting for some type of official announcement. In the meantime, let us know what you think about Huawei’s possible partnership with AT&T and Verizon in the comments below.
