Nokia 3 will skip Android 7.1.2 and go straight to Oreo

0

The Nokia 3 was originally slated to get an update to Android 7.1.2 before going to Android 8.0 Oreo. The chief product officer at HMD Global has some good news about that. The original plans have been changed so the Nokia 3 can jump straight to Android Oreo.

Juho Sarvikas gave this information out on Twitter when he responded to a user inquiry about the next update for the Nokia 3. He said, “We will transition straight to Oreo.” The Nokia 3 is currently on Android 7.1.1, so it makes sense to skip over the small incremental update and go straight to the big one.

Still no timeframe on when exactly that Oreo update will be ready, but at least Nokia 3 owners know what they’ll be getting.
