Back in August, Motorola announced the new Moto G5S lineup, with the standard G5S and the more-powerful Moto G5S Plus. However, these devices were limited to only being available in select countries, with no mention of a US launch.
That has since changed as Motorola has just announced that the Moto G5S Plus will be launching in the US on September 29th. As for pricing, the G5S Plus will start at $229.99 if you pre-order by September 28th, and will jump back to its retail price of $279.99 starting on the 29th.
If you’re worried about the G5S Plus and its carrier compatibility, there’s no need to fear. The G5S Plus comes unlocked from Motorola and contains all of the necessary bands to work on AT&T, Verizon, Sprint, and T-Mobile. So this really is a viable option for just about everyone.
This adds yet another mid-range device to an already crowded space, even for Motorola’s standards. Looking back at other Moto mid-range/budget devices launched, the G5S Plus joins the ranks of the Moto Z2 Play, Moto X4, Moto G4 Plus, and the standard Moto G5 Plus. On the bright side, at least Motorola is giving everyone plenty of options to choose from.
