OnePlus is already testing Android 8.0 Oreo with beta groups

0

OnePlus looks to be on the fastest track to Oreo other than Google. The company is testing new goods with their closed beta group for the OnePlus 3. Folks with the OnePlus 3T and OnePlus 5 will also soon get builds of their own.

There’s no telling how close OnePlus is to a stable launch, but the company says they want to get a public beta going by the end of September. That would be as good as stable for the many OnePlus faithful who are craving the treat, and if things go well it could arrive before we even hit winter, something we didn’t think we’d be saying for any non-Google phone at this point.

While OnePlus hasn’t publicized anything, it’s said the beta in the early going is pretty rough around the edges. Cameras don’t work, and key features like Bluetooth and WiFi are also as good as useless. It is a beta, though, so these things are to be expected. We’ll be keeping an eye out for any news on more widespread tests in the weeks ahead.

The "Google Phone" sounded too awesome to pass up, so I bought a G1. The rest is history. And yes, I know my name isn't Wilson.
