With the Galaxy Note 8 announcement out of the way, that leaves just a few big other late-2017 launches to look forward to. One of those big launches is undoubtedly the Pixel 2, which has been in the rumor mill quite a bit already.
We can’t exactly say we’re right around the corner with a supposed October 5th announcement as reported by Evan Blass, but it’s close enough to get us excited anyway.
We’re expecting a somewhat familiar device out of the Pixel 2 and Pixel 2 XL. It’ll have that same two-toned look that made the original rather striking (or simply unique, for lack of better compliments), as well as front-facing speakers and Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 835 chipset inside.
We’re expecting its best-in-class camera to get even better. And, sadly, we’re expecting the death of its 3.5mm headphone jack.
But where it’ll lack in some areas, it may have enough packed in others to forgive any minor shortcomings. We’re particularly excited about the prospect of it running Android 8.0 Oreo out of the box. So, circle your calendars and get hype!
