The LG V30 cometh — that much we know. LG is preparing to announce the device come this August 31st, at IFA in Berlin but like most high-profile devices these days, we’re seeing countless leaks and rumors providing us with details and even sneaks at the V30 before it even becomes official.
A few days ago we got a look at an alleged engineering prototype. We’ll admit, it looked like a regular ‘ol smartphone and there wasn’t really anything special about it (probably because it wasn’t the final design). It’s renders of the device — built from CAD files sent to case manufacturers — that offered a much more detailed look and today’s leak is lining up exactly with those.
You may remember LG teaming up with celebrity Joseph Gordon Levitt and his HITRECORD organization for the last 3 major smartphone releases. Their latest project asks community members to “find the perfect frame that is unique to you” by creating videos shot on the latest LG devices.
That phone? The LG V30. It’s not listed anywhere on the HITRECORD project page, but after watching a few of the video clips the LG V30 is clearly the device being used for this latest project. Take a look at a few of the screenshots we captured:
The phone looks identical to that 3D render that was leaked (above), but complete with a pseudo curved display and crazy small front bezels. Other rumored specs for the LG V30 include:
