The Galaxy Note 8 may feature an embedded fingerprint scanner [VIDEO]

The Samsung Galaxy Note 8 is likely to be the hottest (no pun intended) phone of the second half of 2017. Based on the release schedule of previous Note devices, it’s likely that we’ll see the Note 8 announced later this Summer. Even though we are a few months away from the official announcements, the Note 8 has been the subject of an array of leaks recently.

The latest of which gives us a look at a dummy unit of the device, which was 3D-printed. If this dummy unit turns out to line up with the actual Note 8 device, we could be in for some excitement this Fall.

First and foremost, it seems that the Note 8 will retain the Infinity Display which was launched with the Galaxy S8 and S8 Plus. This isn’t all that surprising, as it would be really odd for Samsung to not keep rolling with the Infinity Display design for its 2nd flagship device of the year.

The real fun starts when you look at the rear of the device, as the dummy shows off a vertically-placed dual rear camera setup. There were many rumors leading up to the launch of the Galaxy S8 which suggested this would be coming, but Samsung decided to hold off.

Additionally, and more importantly for some, the rear-mounted fingerprint scanner is GONE. We have seen many complaints about the awkward position of the scanner on the Galaxy S8 and S8 Plus, but this was due to the embedded fingerprint scanning technology not being ready for prime time yet.

However, if it’s ready for the Note 8, this could be an even bigger feature than both the Infinity Display and dual-rear cameras. Only time will tell, but let us know what you think about the Note 8 dummy and if you’re getting excited about the device.
