Google drops the May Android security update for everyone

This year is flying by as it’s the first day of May and Google has already released the latest Security Update for Android devices. The update will likely be coming to your device over the next day or two, but you can head over to the Developers page to download the images yourself.

Currently, the files are available for the following devices:

  • Pixel
  • Pixel XL
  • Pixel C
  • Nexus 6P
  • Nexus 5X
  • Nexus Player
  • Nexus 9 LTE
  • Nexus 9 Wi-Fi

In order to determine which file you want to download, the factory image is for if you want to start fresh, while the OTA file is for flashing over your existing software version. Let us know if you run into any issues and make sure you follow the provided instructions to the “T”.
