Samsung starts rolling out an update for the Galaxy S8 red tint issue

0

Last week, we reported on a display issue that was happening to some models of the Samsung Galaxy S8 and Samsung Galaxy S8 Plus. The issue was a red or pink tint on the display. Samsung quickly addressed the issue and said a fix was on the way. That fix has started rolling out, starting with Samsung’s home country of Korea.

The update adds the ability to adjust the color balance in Adaptive display (some models already have this feature). On top of that, there’s a new option for “Screen Edge Color Balance.” This can be used to adjust the color specifically on the curved edges of the display. Hopefully, with these tools, users can get the display looking better. There’s no word on when this update will be released to more markets.
