No under-display camera for the Samsung Galaxy S26 Ultra

0

Over the years, we’ve seen more handset makers adopt under-display cameras for their phones. This is more for aesthetic reasons than functional ones. Samsung, on the other hand, has largely stuck to the hole-punch cutout. It was previously rumored that the Galaxy S26 Ultra could finally use an under-display camera, but not anymore.

Galaxy S25 Ultra deal

According to a post on X by @PandaFlashPro, it seems that the Galaxy S26 Ultra might not use an under-display camera anymore. In fact, the post suggests that we won’t see the tech arriving on Samsung phones for the next 2-3 years. Apparently this is due to poor camera quality.

That being said, as much as we like the sleek design that comes with the use of in-display cameras, we get it. We’ve tried several phones with under-display cameras and the results are usually less than satisfactory. It’s functional, don’t get us wrong, but it definitely leaves a lot to be desired.

It seems that Samsung doesn’t want to take a chance on the technology and like we said, we can’t blame them. In any case, the hole-punch cutout doesn’t really bother us too much. After a period of time, you kind of stop noticing that it’s there. In any case, what do you think? Would the lack of an under-display camera stop you from buying the phone?
