The long-awaited arrival of new Pokemon in Pokemon GO is finally here. Niantic has officially announced Pokemon discovered in the Johto region will be added to the game later this week. The Johto region Pokemon, commonly referred to as “Gen 2,” include over 80 new monsters. Some of which are evolutions from Pokemon that launched with the game.

New Pokemon is not the only thing coming to the game. Niantic is set to launch a bunch of new features and tweaks. Encounters will look a little different. You’ll finally be able to choose Pokeballs and berries directly from the encounter screen. Speaking of berries, two new berries will be available Pokestops. One will slow down a Pokemon, the other will double the candy. Last, but not least, is new avatars and an expanded wardrobe.

Niantic says the update will be rolling out later this week. If you haven’t played the game in a while, now might be a good time to pick it up again.
