Sony Xperia X Performance gets Android 7.0 Nougat preview within the next couple of days

Edgy Sony Xperia X Performance users will have the chance to try out the latest goods available in Android land really soon. After accepting registrations for the preview version of Android 7.0 Nougat as far back as September, Sony is starting to send out notices that OTAs will be issued shortly.

Android Nougat

The email sent to prospects said to expect movement within 48 hours, so it shouldn’t be long for those who signed up to test it. It’ll be coming in as version F8131, so stay on the lookout for that if you’re in that group.

As for what to expect, Sony hasn’t really done much with Android these days, and by that we mean they’re letting Android be Android. Expect Nougat and all its benefits, as well as some of Sony’s own flair and services sprinkled throughout.

Unfortunately, we’re still not sure how long it’ll take before the update reaches the rest of the horde, but with preview versions going out it shouldn’t be a drawn out affair. Stay tuned if you’re waiting for the stable version.
