The Pixel and Pixel XL have technically been available for over a week now, but many of those who pre-ordered the devices have yet to receive them. To make things worse, Google has pushed back the estimated delivery date for many as they underestimated demand for the new phones. Since no one enjoys waiting longer than they need to for a new device, Google appears to be making the wait somewhat more bearable by promising $50 Google Play Store credit to those who are still waiting for their Pixel.

From what we can gather, the following email has been sent those who ordered their Pixel directly from Google. Verizon customers who are still waiting for their device are out of luck. Below is a portion of the email many has been sent to many of those who have pre-ordered a Pixel and have yet to receive it.

Thank you for your recent purchase on Google Store. We’re really excited for you to experience our new products, but we have some not-so-great news: It’s going to take a little longer for you to receive your package than we expected. We know this can be frustrating, but the good news is that we’ve shipped your order and it’s on its way.

You should’ve already received a shipment confirmation email from us. We’re also going to send you a $50 Google Play credit via email soon after your package is delivered.

If you ordered a Pixel phone, we’d love to know if you received your device already. Would you rather get your phone on time of wait a week or two and get $50 in Play Store credit?
