The Galaxy Note 7 fiasco isn’t just a disaster for Samsung. Plenty of accessory manufacturers and retailers like Amazon are caught in the crossfire, too. Some users on reddit are reporting they were able to obtain a refund on a charging dock and a case purchased for the Galaxy Note 7. The poster notes he purchased the items ahead of the devices’ launch, so they were well beyond the 30-day return limit of Amazon’s usual policy.
How to contact Amazon
The quickest, easiest way to contact Amazon is through their online chat service, but they also offer email and phone service if you prefer those.
- Log-in to Amazon.com and view the Contact Us page.
- You’ll see a list of all your recent orders and from here, you can select the orders you want to return.
- Choose to talk to an Amazon customer service associate through chat, phone, or email.
- Explain that the accessory is for a phone that has had a two recalls and is no longer being produced and that you’d like a refund.
While this is anecdotal evidence, it’s worth trying if you purchased a few cases or other accessories for your Galaxy Note 7 from the retailer. Contact chat and explain that the accessories are for a device that has been recalled and that the manufacturer is no longer making and see if you can get your money back since you won’t be able to use those accessories any time in the future.
