You can now buy the Sony Xperia X Compact in the US

The Sony Xperia X Compact has made its way stateside. Amazon has it for folks in America starting at $499 and available in White, Blue, and Black.

As you might guess from its name, the Xperia X Compact takes after phones in the big Xperia X family, only it’s smaller. It’s 4.6-inch display makes it ideal for those who don’t necessarily think bigger is better. That display’s resolution is only 720p, but at such a small size it should still come out quite sharp.

The device is also on the weaker side of the family in terms of its chipset. The Snapdragon 650 inside isn’t bad, and should have no problems driving 720p games and apps, but don’t expect a device comparable to the Xperia X Performance or Xperia XZ in that regard.

Other specs include a surprisingly good 23MP camera, 3GB of RAM, a 2,700mAh battery, and more. Amazon has it available for shipping and to your doorstep as soon as today for Prime members, otherwise you can opt for standard shipping and get it within a few days’ time. Be sure to check out our hands-on with the Xperia X Compact if you need a closer look.
