Samsung’s 360-degree camera, the Gear 360, was first shown off at Mobile World Congress earlier this year. Unfortunately, it hasn’t been available for purchase here in the U.S. Right now you can only buy them in Korea and Singapore, or if you were lucky enough to attend VidCon a few weeks ago. Samsung has announced they will finally be bringing the Gear 360 to the U.S. this month. For good.
The Gear 360 will be available on August 19th. Samsung did not give pricing information, but we expect it to cost around $350-400. So what are you getting for that steep price? The Gear 360 is equipped with two 15MP cameras that can capture 195-degrees. Combined, they create 3,840×1920 videos and 30MP photos. The big catch is the Gear 360 only officially works with Samsung phones, but there is a workaround for everyone else.
Anyone plan on buying this cute little camera ball?
