Movement on our list of the Best Cheap Android Phones isn’t extremely plentiful this month, with the OnePlus 2 being retired to make room for a solid newcomer. But that won’t be the case for long — some stiff competition is coming up really fast.

For starters, the ZTE ZMax Pro made a pretty big impact when we were treated to its unveiling earlier this month. At $100, it offers a spec sheet that should make folks like Motorola produce a big bucket of sweat. It features a 1080p display, 2GB of RAM, and a fingerprint sensor — all of which are unheard of in a device at this price point.

At $399, the ZTE Axon 7 also comes in just under the affordability mark of our list, and it’ll be vying for a spot among the top dogs. With it being the first Daydream-ready smartphone, ZTE has a chance to get 2 of their latest devices on this list within the same month.

But for now, we’re still in that calm moment before the storm starts shaking things up and throwing debris further than the eye can see. Hit the link ahead for the fully updated list of the best cheap Android phones as of August 2016, and stay tuned for movement in the months ahead!
