Over the past few months, WhatsApp has been slowly attempting to improve its mobile application with the introduction of new features. We’ve seen the WhatsApp beta add (then remove) a new video calling feature, as well as enabling end-to-end encryption for all of its users. The latest beta update brings GIF support so you can now send those hilarious images to your friends and family.

These changes haven’t made their way to the full version on the Play Store, but you can easily join the beta through WhatsApp’s webpage and the Play Store. If you’re interested in joining the beta, simply head over to this page here, enroll in the beta, then download WhatsApp on your device. The features may not make themselves apparent at first, as a new update will probably need to be installed, but once done, you’ll be ready to roll.
All of these changes that WhatsApp is implementing is more proof that the messaging platform is the most popular in the world. Also, lets not forget that there is now an official desktop app for Windows and Mac users, truly making this service cross-platform.
