Huawei makes their own VR headset

0

VR is all the rage these days. Add Huawei to the list of manufacturers looking to sell their own virtual reality headsets. The Huawei VR, as it’s simply titled, is a lot like the Samsung Gear VR — you slot your phone into an enclosure and place the thing over your head. Boom: your phone becomes your VR.

The headset only works with the Huawei P9, Huawei P9 Plus and the Huawei Mate 8. That’s understandable, those being their latest flagships. With 1080p resolution across the board on that lineup it won’t make for the most immersive VR experience you can have, but it’s better than nothing.

The headset itself features a touchpad and buttons for controlling your smartphone while it’s inside, as well as adjustment controls to get it focused perfectly for your eyes.

Huawei will have over 4,000 free videos and over 45 free games to check out with the headset, and many of those videos can offer 360-degree fields of sound, so long as you have proper headphones to go with it. No word on the when, where and how much just yet, but that information likely won’t take long to surface.
