$800 for a virtual reality headset is a hard sell for most consumers no matter how cool the technology is. To help sway you, HTC has partnered with retail stores GameStop and the Microsoft Store to give you an in-person demo so you can get a personal impression of the device before you part ways with a month’s mortgage.
GameStop will have the demo at these stores starting April 16th:
For Microsoft, the headset is currently at these locations:
- New York, Fifth Avenue
- Bellevue, Bellevue Square Mall
- Salt Lake City, City Creek Center
And these locations will get it starting later this month:
- Sydney, Westfield Sydney in Pitt Street Mall
- Scottsdale, Scottsdale Fashion Square
- Mission Viejo, The Shop at Mission Viejo
- Lone Tree, Park Meadows Mall
- Austin, The Domain
- Huntington Station, Walt Whitman Shops
- Cincinnati, Kenwood Towne Centre
- Orlando, Mall at Millenia
- Troy, The Somerset Collection
- Dallas, North Park Center
- Tampa, International Plaza
- King of Prussia, King of Prussia Mall
Be sure to take some time out of your schedule to travel to one of these stores if you’re in need of some up close and personal time with the HTC Vive before you invest in one.
