LG-K8-and-K5

With the LG G5 coming to storefronts soon, LG has turned their attention to a couple more budget-friendly devices. Today, they officially announced the LG K5 and LG K8. Both of these devices are entry-level and will be marketed toward emerging markets.

The K8 is the more impressive of the two. It has a 5-inch 720p display, 1.3GHz MediaTek processor, 5MP camera, 1.5GB of RAM, microSD card slot, 2125mAh battery, and 8 or 32GB of internal storage. The K5 also has a 5-inch display, but it’s only FWVGA resolution. It has the same 1.3GHz MediaTek processor, 1GB of RAM, 8GB internal storage, 5MP camera, microSD card slot, and 1900mAh battery.

Normally, low-end devices like this wouldn’t get much attention, but the K8 and K5 have a few things going for them. First, they look really nice. They will be available in gold, white, and blue. Second, the K8 will launch with Android Marshmallow (but the K5 is stick on Lollipop). These phones will debut in a variety of countries later this week, but not in the US.

Ever since I flipped open my first phone I've been obsessed with the devices. I've dabbled in other platforms, but Android is where I feel most at home.
