LG Watch Urbane hero

LG will relaunch the LG Watch Urbane 2nd Edition later in 2016

Yesterday, LG had a few things to say about their brand. They had some good news and some bad news. A spokesperson said “LG needs to focus on its own brand,” which likely means we won’t be seeing another LG Nexus this year. The good news is LG is bringing back one of their “failed” devices from 2015.

The LG Watch Urbane 2nd Edition was canceled just days after it was released last November. The reason for such a swift cancelation turned out to be display issues. Thankfully, LG seems to have resolved the problems, and now they are ready to release the watch again. The company has plans to relaunch the device in the second half of this year.

When the Urbane 2nd edition was first announced, it was the first Android Wear device with LTE capabilities. It also had the highest resolution display at 480×480. As you can tell, there was a lot to like about this device. The other specs were pretty standard for an Android Wear watch. Snapdragon 400 processor, 1.38-inch display, and 570mAh battery. LG did not share pricing for the relaunch, but it cost $199 with a new contract back in November.
