It wasn’t long ago Facebook revealed Reactions, a new set of tools that help you quickly express emotions about the posts you come across. The good ol’ like button is still there, but hovering over it on the web (or holding down on Android) lets you select between a few new ones:
- Hearts
- Excited Face
- Surprised Face
- Sad Face
- Angry Face
Now it’ll be a lot easier to convey the exact emotion you’re feeling without having to post a comment. It’s quite easy to do on Android:
- Long-press the “Like” button
- While still pressing, slide your finger to the alternate reaction you want to use.
- Lift your finger.
Boom! It’s not the biggest change we’ve ever seen for Facebook, but it should contribute to the overall experience and make it even more addictive than it already is.
We’ve been playing with the feature a bit, and the first thing we noticed is that you don’t get a quick view of how many people used each different reaction. You’ll see the number of overall reactions and a summary of which ones were used, but that’s it. You can click the reactions to see a full list of who reacted with what, however, so it’s not so bad. You should be on the lookout for the upgrade to hit your phone starting today if you’re eager to try it for yourself.
