Huawei says they’ll unveil their newest device on February 21st at Mobile World Congress

0

Huawei made a splash earlier this month CES when they unveiled both the Huawei Mate 8 and US-targeted honor 5X. But that doesn’t mean they’re done with big announcements this year. Huawei has scheduled a press event for Mobile World Congress next month, pitting the Chinese manufacturer against big name OEMs like Samsung and LG who are both expected to be unveiling their new flagships devices for 2016. Although the invite doesn’t tease any images of an upcoming phone, Huawei isn’t exactly coy about what they’ll unveil. Here’s the text from the email being sent to press:

“We invite you to join Richard Yu, Chief Executive Officer, Huawei Consumer Business Group, and other Huawei executives, for the global unveiling of Huawei’s newest device at Mobile World Congress 2016. Come see how Huawei continues to meet the demands of the next generation of mobile innovation.”

So there you have it. Huawei will unveil a new device at MWC 2016, although it’s not entirely clear if it will be another super high-end device like the Huawei Mate 8 (which we loved, by the way), but it could be the Huawei P9 we’ve been hearing about recently.
