You can now sign up to test the new Timeline interface on the OG Pebble

pebble timeline beta

Owners of the original Pebble and Pebble Steel have been patiently waiting for an update to the new Timeline software (firmware 3.0). Pebble launched the brand new OS along with the Pebble Time early this year. They have been promising an update for the original Pebbles some time this year. Today, Pebble took a big first step towards that goal.

Pebble has opened up a beta group on Google+ for those willing to test the Timeline software. You must first be accepted into the group before you can try the software. Once accepted, you’ll be able to use the Pebble Time app with your classic Pebble. Version 3.8 of the Pebble Time app allows you to install the Timeline software. You can follow these instructions to update your Pebble.

One important thing to note: once you’ve updated your Pebble to the new Timeline software it will be impossible to go back to the classic interface. Also, Timeline for classic Pebbles only supports English right now. Keep these things in mind before installing the new software. Are you going to try the new software on your Pebble?
