Earlier today, HTC reiterated their plans to deliver Android 6.0 Marshmallow to the HTC One M8 and HTC One M9 before year’s end, mentioning that the updates were still in the final testing phase. Lo and behold, the update is now officially ready for at least one of those devices, with unlocked versions of the HTC One M8 now ready to receive the update.
HTC Product Manager Mo Versi says that the update will be pushed out within the next 24 hours, so you can either wait for your device to notify you, or you can manually check for the update in the Settings app.
So, what about carrier versions? We all know those take a little more time (carrier approval process and all that), but HTC says those devices are expected to receive Marshmallow early next year. Tis the season.
