Deal: Amazon Echo is $150 at Amazon today only; headed to retail stores soon

Amazon’s holding a nice sale on the Amazon Echo, their ubiquitous voice assistant that’ll help deliver the information you ask for by simply issuing voice commands. It’s powered by Alexa — see our review on that platform and the exciting things it can do — and it’s now $30 cheaper. The price has been cut to $150 in a one-day sale, so if you want one at its cheapest price yet then you’ll have to act fast.

To go along with the sale, Amazon has announced that the device will be headed to retail stores soon. You should find it at The Home Depot, Staples, Sears, Brookstone, RadioShack, Fred Meyer, P.C. Richard & Son and more. There will be more than 3,000 stores carrying it, all of which should have the Echo in time for the holiday shopping season. Amazon will have Echo setup for folks to try out so you can get an idea of what it’s all about before shelling out the money. Be sure to keep an eye out for it in your various trips to the stores later this year as you prepare for the busiest shopping season of the year.
