Slew of BlackBerry apps hit the Play Store ahead of PRIV launch
The BlackBerry PRIV went up for pre-order last week for the high cost of $699. Many people are excited for the return of a device with a physical keyboard, but we still have a little while to wait before the November 6th release date. BlackBerry is getting ready for the launch by releasing a slew of apps in the Google Play Store.
Many of the apps are stock apps, such as BlackBerry Launcher, BlackBerry Keyboard, and BlackBerry Camera. This is great news for Android fans, and it shows that BlackBerry understands the OS. Many OEMs have their stock apps in the Play Store now. It allows for much easier and more frequent updates. Kudos to BlackBerry for playing along.
Some of the other apps include BlackBerry Hub, BBM Meetings, Notes by BlackBerry, BlackBerry Password Keeper, and more. They released 20 apps in total, but they are only compatible with the PRIV. It’s cool to see BlackBerry fully embrace Android. The apps have a Material Design-like look to them. Are you excited for this phone?
