A couple of weeks ago we wrote about some Nexus 6P cases blocking the autofocus laser on the back. Some manufacturers quickly responded by saying it will get fixed, but it was an oversight nonetheless. Now it looks like the Nexus 5X is running into a similar problem.
A Redditor shared a photo of his Spigen Ultra Hybrid case for the Nexus 5X. It’s a great case, except for one major flaw: it covers the microphone on the bottom edge. You know, the one you use for making calls? It’s pretty important. The comments on the thread go on to say that this problem can be found in many of the early cases from Cruzerlite, Diztronic, and Verus as well. Case makers are so rushed to be “first!” that they overlook these things.
The good news is you can probably fix the case with a sharp push pin or a small drill. If you don’t feel like fixing it yourself, you can contact the manufacturer to get a refund or replacement. Has anyone else found problems like this in a case before?
