Huawei is hard at work on a new Mate device, and it’s looking to be one of their most beautiful yet. It’s the Huawei Mate S, and thanks to evleaks we have a clearer picture of what to expect when the company finally makes it official.
The first thing we notice is a very clean design on the front. There’s not much of a mess to deal with, save for Huawei’s logo on a very fair bezel. We can’t notice any speakers on the front, and there are none on the rear. Seems they’ve gone and followed Apple’s cue by placing them on the bottom. We also see the addition of a front-facing flash, which is great for those lowlight selfies you might need to take.
Flipping it around to the back, we can see a fingerprint sensor sitting beneath the camera. We know Huawei is looking to put something similar onto their supposed Nexus phablet, so it’s not much of a surprise they’d want to put it on their other high profile devices from here on out. The Ascend Mate 7 also had a fingerprint scanner, so this doesn’t come as much of a surprise. The rear also reveals a healthy helping of metal.
Unfortunately we still don’t know much about the Huawei Mate S’s specs or features, but if the previous Ascend Mate devices are anything to go by we imagine Huawei will look to make this a must-have device for those who don’t mind the brand. We’ll be on the lookout for more in the weeks to come.
