If recent rumors are any indication, we’re getting real close to the launch of a few new Android Wear devices, one of the most anticipated being a followup to last year’s Motorola Moto 360. We’ve already spotted a few closeups of the device in the wilds of Chicago, and even a photo suggesting the watch will come in both large and small varieties. Today another exciting development is cluing us in to a launch being just around the corner: the original Moto 360 is no longer available on Motorola’s site.
To be clear, the landing page is still there — even allowing you to buy the leather and metal watch straps — but when clicking the “Build yours” button to actual purchase the smartwatch, it now forwards you to the Moto 360 support page. In other words, you can no longer buy the watch from Motorola directly. It’s officially gone. Probably forever.
So, why would Motorola be doing this? Our guess they’re making way for new stock, a new smartwatch specifically. We’re not 100% sure when Motorola will make this official, but next week the Motorola Moto 360 2015 could finally be made official. Excited?
