POLL: How do you like Phandroid’s redesign?

It’s been several days since we unveiled our brand new design and we’ve heard your initial feedback loud and clear. The entire Phandroid team worked their butts off to bring you something awesome, but like anything else in this world, there is room for improvement.

Now that you’ve had a few days to digest the changes and let the improvements marinate (like our Android News page), we want to know more. Help us make Phandroid the best it can be by answering the following questions and please expound in the comments!

Overall thoughts

Give us a general idea of your satisfaction with the new design.

Homepage vs Android News

We knew that reducing the number of “Recent Articles” on the homepage would be a big topic of discussion. Most who have tried our dedicated Android News page think it’s amazing. Some wish we’d just show the same thing on the homepage. Others are somewhere in between. How about you?

The “Most Recent Android News” card scene on the homepage is a way to give readers a taste of what’s new without reserving the entire home page for recent news. There are two elements we’ve considered adjusting, though, and would like your input:

Based on the above, how many of these would you like to see on that card, keeping in mind the “Android News” page is only one-click away?

The Featured Article

At the top of the homepage we feature one topic that we think our users will most want to know about for that given day/time. It includes a short description and links to other areas of interest along with “Quick Jump” links to the day’s articles. We tried to make this beautiful with a huge photo and minimal clutter.

Comments

Some of our most loyal readers are also the most active in the comments. We turned off auto-loading of comments to help improve page speed, to the dismay of our top commenters. We’re curious what you think of the following proposed solutions:

Desktop vs Mobile vs App?

We’ve got three distinct user experiences and we want to know which you prefer and what you would rate each out of 10. Please let us know why you rated them the way you do in the comments:

Although we can’t please everyone, we’re certainly going to try! Thanks for all of your support, love, patience, hate, loyalty, trolling, and the list goes on…
