If you don’t know what they are, they’re collectible smart figurines which store data about your favorite characters in select games. Amiibos are most commonly used for Super Smash Bros where you can easily take your win/loss and other character data from one game and beam it into another by placing the Amiibo on the Wii U’s gamepad.
