Given Huawei’s history in the US (or lack thereof), it’s always hard to keep up with everything they’ve got going on overseas. Lately, the Chinese OEM has been giving the US market a go, offering up a few of their flagship devices unlocked on Amazon with US friendly radio bands. Now, with talks of a Huawei Nexus device recently floating about, our ears tend to perk up whenever we come across new leaks from the manufacturer.
Take photos of a new Huawei device that recently hit the net. Nobody is quite sure what to call it (it could launch as the Huawei Mate 7 Mini, or even 7x/7s/7 Plus) but it appears to be a newer, smaller variant of last year’s Huawei Ascend Mate 7. According to some of its reported specs, this new device could be the answer to all those oversized handsets we’ve been seeing in recently. Here’s what we’re looking at: model number CRR-UL00, 4.7-inch 1080p display, Huawei Kirin 935 processor (8-core), 3GB RAM, fingerprint sensor, and Android 5.1.1. It’s entirely possible the benchmarking app used wasn’t reporting the display information accurately, so we’ll have to take it with a grain of salt until we get further confirmation.
Huawei Honor 7i
Huawei is also teasing an event for August 20th, where they’ll be unveiling another new handset called the Huawei Honor 7i. The phone is a quirky little device, featuring a slide out camera module for taking selfies complete with dual-ton LED flash on both sides. Which of these devices — if any — will make its way stateside remains to be seen, but given Huawei’s recent push, we wouldn’t be surprised to see one of these popup on Amazon in the near future.
