Google hides ‘Hooli’ Easter Egg inside Alphabet press release for fans of HBO’s Silicon Valley

Hooli Silicon Valley page

Google shook up the tech world with the announcement that they are now a subsidiary under a new parent company they’ve created called Alphabet. But unbeknownst to many, inside the press release was a cleverly hidden link to Hooli.xyz, the Google-inspired tech company featured in HBO’s Silicon Valley.

The landing page is real, although just a sort of parody site for the fake company featured in the show. If you’d like to take a look for yourself, the link is hidden in the period after the sentence:

“Alphabet will also include our X lab, which incubates new efforts like Wing, our drone delivery effort.

(If the link does not activate on mouseover, view the source of the webpage to see..)

Despite the very serious and huge announcement that was Alphabet, Google proves once again that they still have a sense of humor. For those that recently subscribed to HBO Now and have any interest in the tech scene, we’d recommend firing up an episode or 2 of Silicon Valley. You’ll be glad you did.
