While most OEMs are just fine stuffing anywhere between 1,800mAh and 3,500mAh batteries inside their phones, Doogee — a Chinese company — wants to go well beyond that. The company’s latest smartphone, the HomTom HT6, brings to the table a huge 6,250mAh battery. They were able to stick it inside a 5.5-inch form factor that’s just 9.9mm thin. Engineering geniuses or is that spec claim a little fishy? Tough to say, but that’s what they’re advertising.

Weird name and huge battery aside, it does boast decent looks (alloy-based chassis) and very passable specs. We’re working with 720p resolution on the display, a 13 megapixel camera, a 5 megapixel front camera, MediaTek’s quad-core MT6735 chipset and Android 5.1 Lollipop with a custom skin on top.

HomTom HT6 is set to launch this September, though no pricing information could be offered up at this time. Be sure to keep your eye out on Doogee’s website for release information if you wouldn’t mind importing it.

The "Google Phone" sounded too awesome to pass up, so I bought a G1. The rest is history. And yes, I know my name isn't Wilson.
