Sprint’s LG G2 is now receiving its Android 5.0 Lollipop upgrade

Sprint LG G2 users will wake up to a taste of Lollipop today as the carrier has started rolling the upgrade out to the handset over-the-air. Software version ZVG is what you’ll be looking for, and aside from your typical Lollipop-related enhancements (such as improved notifications, the ability to search Settings and more) the only other change to note is an upgrade for the FM Radio experience.

The upgrade is going out in stages, as usual, so you’ll have to wait for Sprint to give your phone the green light before you can pull it down. To check, simply head to Settings > About Phone > Software Update, and make sure you’re on WiFi and charged up to dodge any issues.

The "Google Phone" sounded too awesome to pass up, so I bought a G1. The rest is history. And yes, I know my name isn't Wilson.

  1. Guess no one cares or the G2’s not getting any love here lol. I returned to my Optimus G (G2’s ancestor) last weekend from the Galaxy S6. The 2013 Optimus is still a beast in 2015! I hope Google taps into LG for basically an updated Nexus 5 this year: no more AMOLED displays (grown to dislike the yellowish tints and oversaturated colors) for me. (And I don’t like anything really over 5.2″.)

  2. If I own the g2 but its no longer in service, do I still get the update?
