Most Popular
Now we’ll talk about the posts that were most popular according to our analytics. These didn’t necessarily have the most comments (though a few of them did), but they show us what Android users were searching for in 2014.

- 50+ Samsung Galaxy S5 Tips & Tricks
- How to find a lost or stolen Android phone [Android 101]
- 8 things I hate about the Samsung Galaxy S5
- 13 things every Galaxy Note 4 owner should do

The obvious takeaway from these results is the popularity of the Samsung Galaxy S5 and Samsung in general. 50% of the top ten posts are related to Samsung in some way. We can also see that the new Moto X was a very popular phone.
The most surprising post from this list is the iOS-style lockscreen notifications. It’s a good thing Google added this feature in Android Lollipop, because it looks like a lot of people wanted it. A lot of people also wanted to download new Lollipop apps.

Phew. What a year it has been! The nice thing about covering Android is there’s always something new and exciting happening. It could be a new wearable from LG, a crazy virtual reality device from Samsung, or the new addictive game from a small indie developer. 2014 was great, and we hope 2015 is even better. What were your favorite stories from Phandroid this year?
#ThrowbackThursday I went and read them again
5 types of Android users is my favorite!
Fucking Samsung. I only read the top things/first things you should do to find something for my own device that I may not know about.
Apparently the readers love Samsung, Apple, Nexus, Wear, and then everything else is secondary.
That’s why we do them, Steve. Lots of people know a few of the things on those lists but not the rest. Phandroid readers usually know most of the things on those lists. But we try find at least a couple things that everyone will find as a little treat, making the articles helpful all-around.
It doesn’t ALWAYS turn out the way… but that’s simply because we’ve got a very knowledgeable audience. Hopefully, though, it serves as a helpful link to share with non-tech-friendly friends/family that get that particular device.
Oh for sure, I always direct someone who’s just bought ‘X’ device to those articles as it helps them out a lot. It’s great, especially since every hardware/software release changes things up and most users don’t catch on right away.
How the heck did I miss #7? It sounds like it nails my position on Apple. Great hardware, won’t deny it…. But that UI/UX thing needs to change. Till then, I’m still holding out for a “normal” sized well built (Motorola/HTC/Sony) Nexus phone. Almost had it with the N6. Almost.
