There’s never a shortage of opportunities to grab a Chromecast for far short of its original retail price, and today is no different. Google Play’s latest offer dishes out $20 in Google Play credit when buying the Chromecast for its original cost of $35. It’s not inaccurate to say this is like getting $20 off, though the savings will only make sense if you were planning to spend $20 over at the Google Play store at some point in th1e near future.
What’s $20 in credit get you? Well, you can use it on all digital offerings such as books, movies, music, apps, games and more. It can’t be used for devices or accessories on Google Play, but if you had a few games or apps you’ve had your eye on, a couple of books you wanted to read or some in-game currency for the countless “freemium” games out there you should be jumping all over this.
And if nothing else, at the end of the day you get yourself an inexpensive multimedia stick to easily beam content to any TV with an HDMI port. The deal will be on until December 21st so you’ll have a couple of weeks to take advantage if you can’t quite squeeze the funds right away. Find it over at Google Play.
I’m waiting for the 2nd chromecast to come out. Give us the same deal for that one.
I just received my Fire Stick. Paid $20 with free trial of Prime. I haven’t had much time to mess with it, but it is fast. No buffer, navigation is almost too fast.
“th1e” ;)
Same deal also applies to the Nexus Player.
Meh, just picked up another one from Best Buy this weekend for $25. Better savings than 20 bucks virtual credit.
Have 3 Chromecast in our family. Awesome stuff. Got the Fire TV for $55 after sale and $15 credit for buying a TV Thanksgiving, still in shipping box lol. Looking forward to Chromecast 2.0.
Just great i bought 3 of them joints and not one offer was given, damn it bestbuy, still worth it doe
Does anyone on this site proofread? “Th1e”?
Also thanks for providing the link so again I can get the real story…. From the source:
“Get $20 in movies on Google Play when you buy a Chromecast by December 21.”
It’s only for movies, not apps, games, or books. Should probably update your article.
