AT&T’s HTC Desire 610 launches July 25th for $200 off contract

AT&T and HTC are coming together to provide an affordable 4G LTE smartphone if you’re in the market for one. That smartphone is the Android-based HTC Desire 610, which is one of the first in HTC’s new line of mid-range handsets that they hope will bring them back into consistent growth.

AT&T has announced that the device will be launching July 25th — that’s a good week and a half from now — for just $200. And that’s not two-year contract pricing either: you can plop $200 down and walk away without having to sign a single sheet of freedom-breaking paper. You can get it via AT&T Next with $0 down and $8.34 per month if you prefer to go that route, which still isn’t a bad wad of change to walk away with for a smartphone.

You should already know that $200 won’t get you a ton. Expect a 4.7-inch 960 x 540 display, an 8 megapixel camera, a 1.2GHz quad-core Snapdragon 400 chipset, 8GB of internal storage, 1GB of RAM, a 2,040 mAh battery and more. That should be enough to give you a solid experience that won’t make you pull your hair out, but you might want to stop into an AT&T store when it’s available to get a good look for yourself. Otherwise, the online order link should go live right here whenever that day rolls around.
