Motorola is once again showing how quick they can update their devices. The latest version of Android, version 4.4.3, is now being pushed out to the Moto G. Devices purchases in the US or Brazil should be seeing the update. The changelog for 4.4.3 has never been made official, but we do know a few new features.

The Phone and People apps have been updated slightly, and for the Moto G they added the Motorola Alert app. This is the app that can help you in emergencies. If you have the Moto G you can check for the update now. We love how speedy Motorola has been with updates lately. Hopefully they continue this in the future with the Moto X+1.

  1. Wow, that’s before my Nexus 5 gets it OTA (although I am in the UK)

    1. Same here. But I am on T-mobile in the US. Even though my wife’s Nexus 5 got the update several days ago. Whatever… Meh.

  2. If you like using your SD card. Dont do it.

    1. The Moto G already has Android 4.4.2. Their SD card usage won’t change with this point release. Also, the majority of Moto G users do not have a MicroSD slot (only the newly released 8GB LTE version has one).

    2. I checked my Moto G and couldn’t find an SD Card. Did the update make it disappear?!?!

  3. At home we all got updates this weekend. First the Nexus 5 and 4, then later in the day the Moto G. I expected Moto to beat Nexus like last time.

  4. There’s now a means of getting root access on the G that was patched in 4.4.3. Don’t do it if you need root access.

  5. My moto G is still 4.4.2. How to upgrade it any ideal?

    1. just wait.

  6. What’s up with the Droid Family on the oh, so lovely big red Verizon not getting update love? My Droid Maxx just got 4.4 back in February and it got the small white/gray palette swap for the notification icons just in April.

But Verizon needs to up its love and let us get on this 4.4.3 action.
