After word that the HTC One M8 Mini would actually come to retail as the HTC One Mini 2, we’ve finally gotten our first look at the thing. Surprise, surprise: it looks like a miniature HTC One M8. There are a few differences to note.
For starters, there doesn’t appear to be a secondary depth information camera sensor on the back, so those UFocus features from the original HTC M8 probably won’t be in play here. There’s also a single LED flash instead of the dual amber setup on the original. And while these photos don’t show it well, we’re willing to bet it’ll be missing an infrared blaster.
The front of the device is more business as usual, with those stereo BoomSound speakers ready to deliver your tunes loud and clear. The device houses the same black logo strip that everyone hates on the M8, as well.
The device is obviously due out this year, though an exact date has yet to be pinpointed. We imagine it won’t take much more than a couple of months for HTC to bring it out, but for now your guess is as good as anyone else’s.

I hate light and proximity sensors all the way on the left side.
On my N5 I hang up calls by mistake with my face because the proximity sensor is too far from my right ear. I’ve resorted to locking the screen when talking.
Plot twist: no duo camera but instead a 16 mp shooter with OIS on board :O
Nah, it’ll probably have the same camera as the M7.
The midrange phone, the desire 816 (or something like that) does bring a 13 mp shooter if I’m not mistaken..
Oh yeah you’re right.

That would be really messed up, since a 13-mp camera would (sadly) be better than the 4-mp “duo” camera.
Exactly, IMO that’s the camera that the m8 should have brought in first place, instead of the gimmicky “duo camera”
The problem most people don’t know how to the the camera right. In the of people who know how to the M8 take good picture http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2694621&page=122
don’t need dual camera..don’t need IR blaster..don’t need dual led flash…but are the internals the same as the HTC M8?
I totally agree, i think the internals are not the same. Who wants features like IR blaster dual led flash and dual camera? somebody does but i do not want it, just higher resolution camera minimal 8 megapixels thats all.
Nope, it will be another Snapdragon 400 device.
