The holiday deals keep on coming. This time it’s NVIDIA stepping up to the plate, prepping the NVIDIA SHIELD Android handheld for an upcoming Black Friday deal to be revealed on Thanksgiving, at 9pm PT.
Details are scarce, pretty much all we know is that the deal include some kind of bundle, with Batman Arkham Origins making an appearance in the fine print. We’ll keep our fingers crossed for a deeply discounted NVIDIA SHIELD (we’ve been looking for a good excuse to pick one up), and will have our pocketbooks ready.
Stay tuned, folks…
It would have to be real deeply discounted for me to look at it seriously.
$200. That’s all I’m asking. And I’ll be all over it.
I might at 200, maybe not though with my Moga pro and G2 I don’t really have much to gain getting a Shield.
I love my shield. Its an emulation beast for ps1 games. I also setup a VPN to stream games to it while at work. (Someone on xda has instructions for it)
+1 for gaming at work.
How is the timing on this? I am sort of on the fence about the Shield but I don’t want to get it if v2 is coming out in a month or something.
Nvidia did hint about shield 2 with tegra 5 but it will not coming out in a month or two.
I feel like it’s still a ways off. We might see a preview at CES in January, but expect the sequel to release in late Spring like this model.
My shield is currently undergoing a RMA process (stripped hinge screw) but in my brief time with it I quite like it except one thing. The screen is too small and I hope the Shield 2.0 fixes this. Currently there is 3/4″ bezel around the screen and if they’d expand the screen size to fill most of the lid it’d be great.
Wow, I literally just bought a Shield bundled with a GTX 780 and the three games they’re offering arriving tomorrow. I wonder what kind of deal they’re going to have.
I dont expect it to be lower than the regular 299$ price tag, but they’ll most likely throw in the Carrying case and some Batman game to sweeten the deal..
I use a MOGA Hero Power on my N4 and gaming is ten times more enjoyable. It makes all of the emulators so much more fun to play.
I’d rather spend the money on a PS vita that will play nice with my PS4
I have had both and trust me the shield is the better deal.
O yeah I’m sure it is, but for what I would use it for it offers me more than the shield would since I can remote play my ps4.
Until its in the $199.99 price range I cant even take it seriously as a Handheld, thats what happen to the PS Vita and look how great it did.
