MetroPCS has just announced that they’re carrying one of Samsung’s biggest phones, and no, we’re not talking in terms of hype. We’re talking about the Samsung Galaxy Mega, a 6.3-inch HD device that’s packing a 1.7GHz dual-core processor. That’ll be joined by an 8 megapixel rear camera, a 1.9 megapixel front camera, a 3,200mAh battery, 4G LTE radios (you’ll be sharing the network T-Mobile customers use) and more.

The phone can be had as low as $349.99 outright, though that price tag will only be awarded after a promotional $100 price drop and a $50 mail-in rebate. The original $500 price tag might seem a bit steep for what’s essentially an over-sized mid-range phone, but it wouldn’t be a bad Christmas gift if you can take advantage of all those offers. You’ll be able to pick on up starting November 25th.

The "Google Phone" sounded too awesome to pass up, so I bought a G1. The rest is history. And yes, I know my name isn't Wilson.

  1. i saw this ad in my local store and thought why?

    1. They said the same thing about the original SG NOTE and each year it sells more and more and more and more ANNNDDD! It keeps getting bigger

      1. I got the Note 2 and honestly, for me, there is no way I’d ever get a bigger phone than this when it comes time to grab a new phone. The Mega is just Mega silly

  2. Samsung Galaxy Murica!

    1. so ‘murican.

  3. its way too big…

    1. That’s not what she said.

      Edit: I agree tho.

      1. holding up to the ear doesn’t bother me. it’s the one handed usage. Swiftkey’s 1h keyboard configuration helps greatly though. Also, I’d rather go with a Note 2 or 3 just for the build in stylus.

  4. wait, so i can get this through metro and then use it on T-Mo? hmm

    1. yeah, but why would you do that, since MetroPCS is 10 bucks cheaper per month AND uses the exact same network!

(I think I’m switching to MetroPCS as soon as my Nexus 5 shows up! XD)

      1. I know what you mean, but I travel out of the country often so T-Mo’s international deals are really convenient for me. Have fun with that Nexus 5 tho!

  5. Not the most spec-packed phablet but, it still have its niche the second-generation of this will do better if received a special bump

  6. how can i unlock it for ATT? do those websites/ebay sellers that claim they can do it work? how much?

  7. So it won’t access Metro PCS’s LTE? T-Mobile is still EDGE up here in Mendocino County in NW CA, while Metro PCS is all LTE.

  8. It drives me nuts how its nothing more than a dumbed down note 2, but with a bigger screen and no stylus…. I love sammy and am awaiting my note 3, but some of these galaxy iterations are just becoming goofy.
