LG has announced that its newly-revealed G2 will be coming to all four major carriers here in the United States, which would include Verizon, AT&T, Sprint and T-Mobile. Of course, those in other countries typically don’t have to worry about availability as most major carriers in most countries tend to sell most flagship devices. And being able to buy the device SIM unlocked and use it on mostly any carrier in your country also can’t hurt.

None of the carriers have a solid date to give us outside of “later this year,” though we imagine those details will be coming along in due time. We also don’t have a clue on pricing, but folks can expect the usual $200 or $300 after a two-year contract agreement, and anywhere between $100 and $200 down for T-Mobile. Everyone will have a chance to own this thing before too long.

The "Google Phone" sounded too awesome to pass up, so I bought a G1. The rest is history. And yes, I know my name isn't Wilson.

  1. LG makin’ moves! :O

    1. r.i.p g$4

      1. Really? I love this lg phone but this phone was made to compete with note 2 and right now note 2 can still keep up with most phones, imagine what note 3 will bring. One thing is for sure, this may be my next phone over the note 3 just because its 5.2 and more comfortable in the hand. If the note 3 is 5.7 like they said and the body of phone is also bigger I will not be getting it.

        1. this isnt a phablet nor a Note competitor

          1. It might not be to some but lg is directly saying that a phone bigger than 5.2 is not comfortable to hold and is directly releasing a phone that is bigger than most. Unless you have some news that we are not aware of and lg is coming out with a 6″ screen phone?

          2. heard of the LG Optimus G Pro?

          3. Yes, and although that phone is more of a comparison to the note 2, lg is getting rid of their “optimus” line to start fresh. Or at least that’s that the rumors are saying. So with this new g2 they are directly competing with phones bigger than 5 and those smaller by saying “it fits comfortably in your hand”. Either way this I as a note 2 owner and thinking that it fits fine in my hands am really thinking of getting the g2 because its even easier yet it will still feel big.

        2. This phone wasn’t made to compete with the Note2. Its competing with the gs4. LG said that there phablets will keep the Vu name. When the new Vu comes out, that’ll compete with the Note series.

  2. And this phone will STILL be cheaper unlocked than the Moto-X…despite the orders of magnitude better hardware. And on contract it’ll be probably the same price as the Moto-X….

  3. Moto what?!? I know what I’m getting.

  4. Impressive. This makes the S4 look sad and old. Samsung really screwed up with the S4 IMHO. Way to go LG!

    1. Calm down. sad and old? take it easy…

    2. What are you talking about? This was lg’s answer to the note 2 not the s4. And new phones are coming out all the time which makes a previous phone look old. But as far as sad? Calm down i say. My note 2 can still put up a fight against this phone. example, larger screen, bigger battery, smart spen, all the features that now lg has like smart pause, when on a text you can put to ear and it dials automatically.
So in other words, this phone is awesome but the note 3 is still not out, not to mention the htc mega or max or whatever their gonna call it.

      1. No, I mus’nt calm down. You calm down! My morning coffee wasnt strong enough. Must rage!!!!

        1. such a pathetic attempt for attention. the thirst is strong in this one.

          1. Such a pathetic attempt at ruining my mood! Sorry if I am having a little fun and this irritates you. You should lighten up, life is too short to take it that seriously.

          2. I agree, life is short. But how is this site taking a cheap shot at samsung? From all the posts Ive read they just relay the news. But you could be right. I guess we’ll see what note 3 has to offer. Can’t wait. September is too far away!

      2. LG’s answer to the Note2 was the Optimus G Pro! What are u talking about?!

  5. LG G2 or wait for next Nexus….decisions, decisions…

    1. If Google is going with LG again, wait for the Nexus version. You’ll get KLP and timely updates.

  6. Looks great, this might be my first LG phone I ever get.

  7. Now we just need them to remove that giant LG logo from the bottom front. Then again Verizon will probably just slap their logo in the same spot if LG removed theirs.

  8. May have to cop this and trade out my HTC One… I hope they refined that ugly UI, perhaps got it closer to stock

    1. HTC ONE is still the best phone ever made to date.

      1. Yes, to date maybe. But overall if you look at the specs the lg g2 once released and tested will most likely pass it. Especially since it is a bigger screen yet you can still hold it with one hand comfortably… or at least that’s what lg said.

        1. You’re gonna be saying this every 6 months about “X” being better than “X” phone. It’s gonna keep going around and around like a record..

        2. You probably have very big hands!!

          1. The hands-on video at Engadget.com featured a girl. I kept thinking her hands must be huge!

          2. lol, that is so funny.

      2. A phone without removable storage or battery is not the best ever made..

        1. I could possibly go for no removable storage but not the battery. Batteries become about 50% effective after just a year. Imagine having to toss your laptop because the battery had reached end of life. Full price on Smartphones are way more expensive than laptops these days.

      3. LMAO! This reminds me when Kanye interrupted the scarecrow’s acceptance speech during the VMA’s
LG-G2: I know you have good looks and all, but the HTC One is the best phone of all time!

      4. I almost agree but the bezel is just too big.

  9. I’ll wait for the next Nexus phone, which should be a fork of this device.

  10. I need some news of a new Nexus…..asap!

    1. Its too early , its 2 months away

  11. HTC could barly pull this off with the HTC One sad..

  12. The Koreans are seriously addicted to plastic, e.g. http://ow.ly/nJqtQ if you know what I mean..
