Twitter for Android gets DM sync, better search

Twitter for Android has gotten a quick update that adds a couple of key features users have been seeking for quite some time. The first, and perhaps biggest, is the ability to sync direct messages between devices. This means folks will finally be able to have the “read” status of a message changed and have that reflected across all devices and on the Twitter website. It was annoying getting notifications about “new” direct messages you’d already seen, so this is a most welcome change.

Twitter also made some improvements to the search box, giving users a look at the avatars of user profiles in the search result preview box, as well as giving them the ability to clear previous notifications with the tough of a button. Twitter might be trying to stifle competition with some of its strict policies against third-party clients, but at least they’re improving their app in fairly quick and favorable fashion. Head to the Google Play Store for the download.

  1. Still Sucks compared to damn near every third party version of it.

  2. Another good update. This was nice to see as I prefer Twitter’s official app over third parties’.
