Well, folks, we’ve been hit with some unfortunate news. Those who have an… emotional attachment to Mr. Larry Laffer were looking forward to reliving their past with the iconic video game character in a remake of his adventures — dubbed Leisure Suit Larry –May 31st. Well, as you know by now, that date has come and gone, and there is no entry in the Google Play Store.
Replay Games has mentioned to us that the game has been delayed until “later this month.” The first in this reloaded series was Land of the Lounge Lizards, and aside from upgraded graphics and visuals it would feature new puzzles, gameplay elements and characters.
We don’t have a solid release date just yet, but Replay Games has released the official soundtrack for the game ahead of time. You can purchase it from BandCamp for $6, and it will feature all new tracks inspired by the jazzy tunes of the original, courtesy of the talents of Mr Austin Wintory. Just listening to the samples was enough to get me excited for the game itself.
There are 21 tracks in all. If you happen to be a fan of both jazz and Leisure Suit Larry then it doesn’t get any better than this. Go ahead and give the samples a try at BandCamp, and make a purchase if you want something to remind you of the good old days before we get the game at some point this this month. PS: don’t bother purchasing it if you’re a Kickstarter backer getting a copy of the game — you’ll be receiving a download link for the album in your inbox sometime soon.
